The Ranked System

Skill Rating explained: how SR is earned and lost, how skill divisions, promotions and demotions work, and exactly what it takes to reach the Warzone and Multiplayer Top 250.

Skill Rating (SR)

Ranked Play measures progress with a single number: Skill Rating. You gain SR for wins and strong placements, lose SR for weak ones, and eliminations add a bonus on top. SR is tracked separately for Battle Royale, Resurgence and Multiplayer, so a climb in one mode never moves your rating in another.

Your peak SR is the highest rating you reached during the season. It never drops, which is why a player can sit well below their peak on the live board after a rough session.

Skill divisions

Players move through the same ladder of divisions as their SR rises:

  1. Bronze
  2. Silver
  3. Gold
  4. Platinum
  5. Diamond
  6. Crimson
  7. Iridescent
  8. Top 250

Each division below Iridescent is split into tiers, and every tier has its own SR window. Crossing the top of a window promotes you; dropping below the bottom demotes you.

Promotions and demotions

Promotions are automatic once you pass the SR threshold for the next tier. Demotions work the same way in reverse, with a short protection buffer after a promotion so a single bad match does not immediately push you back down.

Leaving a match early or being penalised can cost SR on top of the placement result, so the safest way to protect a rating is simply to finish games.

Reaching the Top 250

Iridescent is the last division you can enter with raw SR. Above it, the Top 250 is a fixed-size bracket: only the 250 highest-rated players in a mode are listed, and holding a place means staying above the current cutoff rather than hitting a set number.

Because the cutoff moves with the rest of the ladder, the #250 threshold usually climbs through the season. The cutoff tracker shows exactly how far the entry line and the #1 rating have moved.
